Round 2,500 chickens died in a span of three days following an outbreak of a “mysterious illness” within the poultry farms of Konnur, Madanapuram mandal of the Wanaparthy district, stated an official on Friday.
District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Officer of Wanaparthy, Okay Venkateshwar, confirmed the outbreak and stated that the reason for the illness is being investigated.
The official, whereas sharing data, stated, “A mysterious illness has hit poultry farms in Konnur, Madanapuram mandal, Wanaparthy district, ensuing within the deaths of roughly 2,500 chickens inside a span of simply three days.”
“We inspected the spot after 2500 chickens died. Now we have taken samples which have been despatched to the lab for testing,” he stated.
“The deaths occurred over three days—117 on February sixteenth, 300 on the seventeenth, and the remaining on the 18th, after which we had been knowledgeable and despatched the samples to the lab on the nineteenth. These chickens died on the Premium Kind, an built-in system with a capability of 5,500, owned by Shivakehavulu,” stated the official.
Earlier final week, the Andhra Pradesh authorities intensified efforts to curb the unfold of fowl flu, with strict containment measures in place throughout three affected districts.
Further Director of Animal Husbandry, Dr Satya Kumari, acknowledged, “The fowl flu is restricted to 3 districts and 5 farms. Roughly one lakh hens have been culled as a result of outbreak.”
Yesterday, Andhra Agriculture, Cooperation, Advertising and marketing, and Animal Husbandry Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu reassured the general public that there was no trigger for concern relating to fowl flu, as the federal government had carried out strict measures to manage its unfold.
