A candidate for the submit of Panchayat head in Bihar’s Aurangabad district who misplaced the election has been arrested after a video of him assaulting two Dalit males went viral.
The candidate, Balwant Singh, has been accused of blaming the Dalit neighborhood for his loss and beating up two individuals from the neighborhood as they allegedly didn’t vote for him.
Balwant could be heard mentioning that he paid the 2 voters, and so they nonetheless did not vote for him. He’s seen verbally abusing the 2 males and punishing them by making them do sit-ups whereas holding their ears.
He then proceeds to bodily assault one among them and forces him to spit on the bottom and lick it. He could be seen holding him by the neck and forcing him to the bottom.
NDTV can’t independently confirm the authenticity of the video that has surfaced right this moment.
Balwant has alleged that the 2 males had been creating nuisance after getting drunk, and he punished them for it after they acquired sober. The video, nonetheless, establishes that Balwant was speaking about having paid them.
The police have acted swiftly and arrested the accused after instructions from the district’s Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra. The matter is being investigated, Mr Mishra mentioned.
