Impartial MLA Prasad Gaonkar on Sunday resigned as a member of the Goa Legislative Meeting, a month forward of the elections.
He’s set to hitch Congress. The Sanguem MLA submitted his resignation to the Goa Meeting Speaker.
Together with his resignation, the power of the 40-member Home has been diminished to 33.
“I’ve tendered my resignation as an MLA. I might be becoming a member of the Congress celebration quickly to contest from the Sanguem constituency,” stated Mr Gaonkar.
The Meeting elections are scheduled to be held within the coastal state on February 14.
Apparently, Congress has misplaced a bulk of MLAs to the ruling BJP over the past 5 years, leaving the celebration with solely two legislators as of now.
Earlier, Congress MLAs Luizinho Faleiro and Ravi Naik, Impartial legislator Rohan Khaunte, BJP’s Alina Saldanha, Goa Ahead Social gathering’s Jayesh Salgaonkar and NCP MLA Churchill Alemao have resigned from the Meeting.
