India has summoned the Maldives envoy after three ministers of the island nation made derogatory remarks in opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A Maldivian lawmaker criticised PM Modi following his Lakshadweep journey inferring that New Delhi is trying to mission the Union Territory in its place vacationer vacation spot to the Maldives. Two different Maldivian ministers additionally shared derogatory remarks together with PM Modi’s pictures from Lakshadweep.

These opinions are private and don’t characterize the views of the federal government of Maldives,” the Maldivian international ministry mentioned in a press release on Sunday.
The three ministers – Maryam Shiuna, Malsha Shareef and Mahzoom Majid – have been suspended after a number of Indians on social media claimed to have cancelled their scheduled trip to the nation made up of greater than 100 islands dotted with luxurious resorts.
