A bunch of madrasa college students on Monday attacked a stall on the Amar Ekushey Guide Truthful in Dhaka over the show of e book written by Taslima Nasreen, who’s in exile in India as per police and eyewitness’ accounts.
Based on police and eyewitnesses, the incident happened on the e book stall of Sabyasachi Publication, the writer of Nasreen.
“A bunch of agitators got here to Sabyasachi Prakashani and began shouting first why Taslima Nasreen’s e book was saved within the stall. Later Writer Shatabdi Bhava was attacked by the folks. They threw away Taslima’s e book”, a witness mentioned.
“Later, the state of affairs got here underneath management after police picked up Writer Shatabdi Bhava and the agitators from the spot”, they added.
“Extra police had been despatched after receiving details about the disturbance on the e book honest. The panic was there as a consequence of tensions between some college students of the Qaumi Madrasa and the writer of Sabyasachi Prokashoni”, Police Official Masud Alam informed ANI over the telephone.

Purported movies of the assault has gone viral on social media. Taslima Nasreen shared one such video on X.
“At the moment, jihadist non secular extremists attacked the stall of the writer Sabyasachi at Bangladesh’s e book honest. Their ‘crime’ was publishing my e book”, Taslima Nasreen wrote on X.
“The e book honest authorities and the police from the native station ordered the removing of my e book. Even after it was eliminated, the extremists attacked, vandalized the stall, and shut it down”, she added.
“The federal government is supporting these extremists, and jihadist actions are spreading throughout the nation”, Nasreen mentioned.
Taslima Nasreen is a Bangladeshi author, doctor, feminist, secular activist.
