Officers of the Authorized Metrology and Meals Security and Requirements Authority of India (FSSAI) carried out joint raids on resorts, eating places and bakeries at numerous locations right here on Tuesday (August 19).
The officers seized stale meals, frozen objects and outdated materials from some institutions, stated the FSSAI authorities. “The Authorized Metrology and FSSAI officers fashioned about 20 groups and are conducting searches in bakeries and resorts at completely different locations in Vijayawada,” stated FSSAI Joint Meals Controller N. Purchandra Rao.
Chatting with The Hindu, Authorized Metrology Joint Controller A. Krishna Chaitanya stated that raids have been being carried out on candy stalls and different institutions to examine weight, MRP, particulars of the producer, contact numbers given on the product or not, manufacturing and expiry date and different particulars.
“We’re verifying the weighing machines, packaging guidelines on the objects within the retailers positioned at Benz Circle, Patamata, Satyanarayanapuram, M.G. Highway and different areas,” stated Authorized Metrology Deputy Controller Hari Prasad.
The Meals Security officers seized samples of uncooked materials, packaged meals objects and frozen objects from resorts, eating places and candy stalls, which might be despatched for laboratory for examination, a meals inspector, who participated within the raids stated.
