Police on Tuesday evening arrested the CEO and two administrators in addition to eight different officers of LG Polymers in reference to the styrene vapour leak incident by which 12 individuals had been killed and 585 fell sick
on May 7, Visakhapatnam police chief RK Meena advised PTI.
The arrests had been made a day after the High-Power Committee, appointed by the state authorities to probe the vapour leak, submitted its report back to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The report blamed a number of inadequacies on a part of LG and slackness of administration over poor security protocols and complete breakdown of the emergency response procedures within the plant that resulted within the tragedy.
The police registered a case on May 7 towards LG Polymers at R R Venkatapuram, below numerous IPC Sections together with 278 (making ambiance noxious to well being).
Exactly two months later, the arrests had been made.
