Police on Monday arrested an area AAP chief, his girlfriend and 4 alleged contract killers in reference to the homicide of his spouse, who can be a celebration chief.
Lipsy Mittal (33), spouse of Anokh Mittal, was killed on Saturday by robbers close to a village right here, officers mentioned.
Anokh and his spouse Lipsy have been returning residence after having dinner at a lodge on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla highway, police had mentioned.
He had initially advised the police that robbers intercepted them on Saturday, attacked the couple with sharp-edged weapons and fled with their automotive.
Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal mentioned that the important thing conspirator of the homicide turned out to be the lady’s husband.
He mentioned that the police have arrested her husband and native AAP chief Anokh Mittal (35), additionally a businessman and his 24-year-old girlfriend.
Police mentioned that Anokh’s spouse had found that her husband had an extramarital affair following which he hatched the plan to his spouse with the girlfriend.
The commissioner mentioned that moreover Anokh and his girlfriend, 4 contract killers — Amritpal Singh alias Balli (26), Gurdeep Singh alias Manni (25), Sonu Singh (24) and Sagardeep Singh alias Teji (30) — have additionally been arrested.
He added that Amritpal, Gurdeep and Sonu are from close by village Nandpur and Sagardeep is a resident of Dhandari Kalan.
In the meantime, the kingpin of the contract killers’ gang, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, continues to be on the run, he mentioned.
Anokh had promised to pay Rs 2.5 lakhs to the contract killers and paid Rs 50,000 upfront, the police officer mentioned.
