9 labourers have been trapped after an under-construction tunnel of the Bargi canal challenge caved in at Sleemanabad in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. Aid operations are on and 7 of the 9 labourers have been rescued, officers stated.
Locals officers, together with the State Catastrophe Emergency Response Power (SDERF) staff, try to securely rescue to remaining labourers.
The SDERF staff arrived from Jabalpur, stated Katni collector Priyank Mishra.
The incident befell late on Saturday night.
Madhya Pradesh Extra Chief Secretary (Dwelling) Rajesh Rajora is monitoring the rescue operation from the state secretariat.
“The SDERF staff with the mandatory tools is making an attempt to succeed in the labourers by digging a shaft. The district collector and the SP are tenting on the web site to oversee the rescue operation,” Mr Rajora advised PTI.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has additionally taken cognizance of the incident in Sleemanabad. In a cellphone dialog with the Katni collector, he sought details about the incident.
He has additionally instructed officers to make sure that these injured get correct remedy.
