Mamata Banerjee’s Adviser Warned Of “Penalty Proceedings” By Centre: Sources

Alapan Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal’s former chief secretary and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s adviser, has acquired one other central authorities letter warning him of “main penalty proceedings” for not attending a gathering chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi final month on Cyclone Yaas.

The centre, which interpreted his absence as “misconduct or misbehaviour”, stated the retired Indian Administrative Officer has 30 days to submit a written assertion in his defence.

“Shri Alapan Bandyopadhyay, IAS (Retd) is knowledgeable that an inquiry shall be held solely in respect of the Article of Cost as will not be admitted. He ought to, subsequently, particularly admit or deny the Article of Cost,” the letter by the Division of Personnel and Coaching reads.
