A person was arrested on Saturday for allegedly strangling his 30-year-old spouse with a dupatta in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri, police mentioned.
Accused Nanda Nayak and his spouse, Jharna, who used to work as a home assist in the CR Park space, shared a strained relationship, they mentioned.
Nayak was earlier arrested in 2017 when he attacked Jharna, her brother and brother-in-law with a knife. He was launched on interim bail in June and since then, has been dwelling in Gurgaon, the police mentioned.
“On Saturday morning, Nayak reached the girl’s home in Govindpuri space and strangulated her with a dupatta. He then locked the room and fled,” a senior police officer mentioned.
The girl’s physique was discovered mendacity on a mattress in a room on the third ground of the constructing the place she lived.
A number of police groups had been shaped and the accused was arrested from the Govindpuri park, the officer mentioned, including additional investigation is underway.
