The nation’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Saturday reported a 4 per cent fall within the complete wholesales to 1,53,149 items in December 2021.
The corporate had offered 1,60,226 items in December 2020, MSI stated in an announcement.
In December 2021, the home gross sales slipped 13 per cent to 1,30,869 items final month as towards 1,50,288 items in December 2020, it added.
“The scarcity of digital parts had a minor impression on the manufacturing of autos throughout the month. The scarcity primarily affected the manufacturing of autos offered within the home market,” MSI acknowledged.
The corporate took all doable measures to minimise the impression, it added.
Gross sales of mini vehicles, comprising Alto and S-Presso, fell 35 per cent to 16,320 items as in contrast with 24,927 in the identical month final yr.
Equally, gross sales of the compact phase, together with fashions corresponding to Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, slumped 11 per cent to 69,345 items as towards 77,641 vehicles in December 2020.
Gross sales of mid-sized sedan Ciaz declined to 1,204 items as in contrast with 1,270 items in December 2020.
Utility automobile gross sales, together with Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, rose 5 per cent to 26,982 items as in contrast with 25,701 autos within the year-ago month, MSI stated.
Exports, nonetheless, jumped over two-fold to 22,280 items as towards 9,938 items within the corresponding month final yr, the corporate stated.
