A number of individuals had been wounded in a stabbing incident at a Walmart in Traverse Metropolis, Michigan, officers mentioned Saturday night. A suspect is in custody.
Michigan State Police mentioned in a post on X that the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Workplace is investigating the incident. The company requested that individuals keep away from the realm whereas the investigation is ongoing.
Northern Michigan-based Munson Healthcare mentioned in a Facebook post that it was treating 11 individuals at its medical middle in Traverse Metropolis and was “working carefully with native authorities and emergency providers to make sure the very best take care of these impacted.”
Megan Brown, a spokesperson for Munson Healthcare, instructed the Related Press that each one 11 had been stabbing victims, although she didn’t have data on their situations Saturday evening.
A Walmart company spokesperson, Joe Pennington, instructed the Related Press by electronic mail that the corporate was “working with police and defer inquiries to them proper now.”
