Anil Sharma, the managing director of the Amrapali Group, is amongst six individuals accused of the homicide of a person in Bihar that came about seven years in the past. Dr Sharad Chandra, then a secretary of Balika Vidyapeeth in Lakhisarai, was shot lifeless at his residence within the campus in August 2014.
The Central Bureau of Investigation – which took over the investigation on the order of the Patna excessive court docket – stated the motive was to take over the land and property belonging to the academic establishment. Chandra was faraway from his submit after Anil Sharma, with the assistance of some others, seized the land and property of the establishment.
“Anil Sharma, MD of Amrapali Group, had usurped the belief of Balika Vidyapeeth with the assistance of Rajendra Prasad Singhania, Dr. Praveen Kumar Sinha, Shyam Sunder Prasad and Shambhu Sharan Singh,” the company has alleged.
Chandra was shot whereas he was studying a newspaper within the balcony.
The secretary, the CBI stated, was focused earlier too as he had raised questions on the way in which the varsity was being run. He was threatened, his home was broken and he was shot at, the company stated.
Final month, a single-judge bench of Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, had ordered a CBI probe into the homicide, following a petition from Sharad Chandra’s spouse.
