Narayana Murthy sets example for youngsters; comes from hospital bed to cast vote

Alongside the Murthys, other prominent figures such as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, cricketing legend Rahul Dravid, and actor Prakash Raj were also early voters in Bengaluru, encouraging citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.Rahul Dravid, head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, expressed his views on the elections, stating, “Good arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of elections…please come out and vote in large numbers. There should be a record turnout in Bengaluru this time. Youths should come out and vote, especially first-time voters.”

The polling in Karnataka, covering 14 constituencies in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, witnessed an estimated 9.21 per cent turnout in the initial hours, reflecting the citizens’ engagement in the electoral process.

The active participation of public figures like Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty underscores the importance of exercising democratic rights and encourages residents, significantly the youth, to play a proactive position in shaping the nation’s future by way of voting.
