Tokyo: Japan’s Nintendo Co Ltd mentioned on Friday {that a} global chip shortage which pressured the agency to cut back expectations for gross sales of its hit Change machine can also be hitting {hardware} improvement.

“The semiconductor scenario is having some impact on {hardware} improvement,” Nintendo govt Ko Shiota, who heads the event crew, advised an analyst briefing.

“We’re taking a look at substituting parts and tweaking designs to attempt to scale back the impression,” he added.

The feedback come a day after firm president Shuntaro Furukawa mentioned there was no signal of chip shortages easing as Nintendo lower its full-year Change gross sales forecast.
