No expenditure has been incurred by the federal government on partaking any social media influencer until date, Union Minister of State for Info and Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan mentioned in Lok Sabha on Wednesday (July 30, 2025).
In a written reply to a question of MP Bachhav Shobha Dinesh, Mr. Murugan mentioned MyGov is a citizen engagement platform for data dissemination and fostering participatory governance.
“MyGov repeatedly engages with related stakeholders for disseminating details about authorities programmes instantly and thru empaneled companies. Interactions of Hon’ble Ministers and senior officers with media are a part of such outreach actions,” the Minister mentioned.
“On March 7, 2023, MyGov issued Request for Citation (RFQ) for engagement of Influencer Advertising Companies. Eight companies have been empaneled following the due course of. Until date, no expenditure has been incurred for partaking any social media influencer,” Mr. Murugan mentioned in his reply.
