Days after heaps of money and kilos of gold had been seized from his aide Arpita Mukherjee’s houses in Kolkata, sacked Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee immediately claimed the cash didn’t belong to him.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized round Rs 50 crore money from two houses belonging to Ms Mukherjee throughout raids in reference to alleged irregularities in recruitment of lecturers. Each Mr Chatterjee and Ms Mukherjee had been arrested earlier this month.
The previous minister, now suspended by his occasion, was surrounded by reporters immediately when he was dropped at a central government-run hospital in Kolkata for a check-up.
