NPP Rebels Meet Amit Shah, BJP Leader Says Manipur Crisis Over


Nine MLAs had stop the BJP-led ruling coalition in Manipur earlier this month.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s authorities was thrown into turmoil earleier this month after 9 MLAs — together with 4 from key ally NPP, three from the BJP, the lone Trinamool Congress MLA   and Independent MLA — withdrew help.

The NPP legislators — together with the state’s former Deputy Chief Minister  Y Joykumar Singh  and cupboard ministers N Kayisii, L Jayanta Kumar Singh and Letpao Haokip — have been flown to Delhi this morning.

The NPP MLAs had joined fingers with arch-rival Congress to type the Secular Progressive Front or SPF. Blaming the BJP’s high-handed habits for the rift, that they had vowed by no means to alter their thoughts.

In April, Yumnam Joykumar Singh was stripped of his portfolios by Chief Minister Biren Singh following an argument over rice allocation below the National Food Security Act in the course of the lockdown. All 4 MLAs had indicated that they needed Chief Minster N Biren Singh out.

The BJP went into harm management mode after the Congress met the Governor and demanded a ground check.
