NEW YORK — New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams is assembly with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago dwelling Friday in Florida.
In accordance with Adams’ schedule, he flew to Florida on Thursday, and is anticipated to fulfill with Trump at 1 p.m. Friday.
The mayor has mentioned a partnership with the federal government is important to New York Metropolis’s success, and Trump has mentioned he would consider pardoning Adams if he’s convicted on federal corruption charges.
“Mayor Adams has made fairly clear his willingness to work with President-elect Trump and his incoming administration on behalf of New Yorkers — and that partnership with the federal authorities is important to New York Metropolis’s success,” the mayor’s workplace mentioned in an announcement Thursday. “Tomorrow, Mayor Adams will sit down with President-elect Trump and focus on New Yorkers’ priorities. The mayor appears ahead to having a productive dialog with the incoming president on how we will transfer our metropolis and nation ahead.”
In the meantime, the mayor’s critics, together with Comptroller Brad Lander, who’s operating in opposition to him, say Adams is placing his personal pursuits over New Yorkers.
Preparations underway for Trump’s Inauguration Day
The assembly comes as Washington, D.C. is and the upcoming switch of energy.
Security and safety will probably be precedence, particularly given the two assassination attempts Trump confronted final 12 months.
Roughly 25,000 legislation enforcement officers and army personnel will probably be there, together with 7,800 Nationwide Guard members.
