Chandigarh:

Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal grew to become the primary to return his award in protest towards the remedy of the protesting farmers by the Central authorities. The 92-year-old returned his Padma Bibhushan award — the second highest civilian honour of the nation — that he obtained from the federal government in 2015.

Mr Badal, whose Shiromani Akali Dal has pulled out of the NDA alliance over the farmers’ protest, stated he was registering his protest towards the federal government’s “betrayal of farmers”.

A bunch of high sportspersons and coaches from Punjab have stated they’ll return their awards and march to Delhi on December 5 in solidarity with the farmers.

“They’ve been holding peaceable agitation for a number of months. However water cannons and teargas shells had been used towards them,” Olympic hockey participant and Arjuna awardee Sajjan Singh Cheema had stated.
