The Ministry of Defence on Thursday (July 17, 2025) confirmed that short-range ballistic missiles — Prithvi-II and Agni-I — had been efficiently test-fired from the Built-in Take a look at Vary in Chandipur, Odisha.
The launches validated all operational and technical parameters. These checks had been performed beneath the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, added the Ministry.
The indigenously developed short-range ballistic missiles had been test-fired efficiently.
The event comes days after the Indian Military carried out profitable trials of the indigenously developed Air Defence System “Akash Prime” in Ladakh.
A senior official confirmed that the Military Air Defence Corps performed the trials in collaboration with senior scientists from the Defence Analysis and Improvement Organisation (DRDO), which developed the missile system. The 2-day trial was performed at an altitude of over 15,000 toes in jap Ladakh.
In accordance with the Ministry of Defence, the weapon system is customised to function at altitudes above 4,500 metres and has the newest upgrades, together with an indigenously developed Radio Frequency seeker.
