The Punjab cupboard’s resolution to offer two state authorities jobs to the sons of Congress MLAs has triggered recent hassle for Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Sunil Jakhar, the Punjab Congress chief, and two MLAs have demanded that the “ill-advised” transfer be rolled again. Nonetheless, Mr Singh, already battling dissent within the state unit, has refused to scrap the choice, saying it’s a “small token of gratitude and compensation for the sacrifices of their households”.
The Punjab authorities selected Friday that the sons of Congress MLAs Arjun Pratap Singh Bajwa and Bhisham Pandey can be appointed as a police inspector and a naib tehsildar as their grandfathers had been murdered by terrorists.
“No query of rescinding Punjab Cupboard resolution on jobs for sons of two Congress MLAs. It’s only a small token of gratitude and compensation for the sacrifices of their households. It is shameful that some individuals are giving political color to this resolution,” Mr Singh was quoted as saying by his media adviser Raveen Thukral.

Reacting to the transfer, Mr Jakhar on Saturday mentioned the choice was in opposition to the “ethos and tradition of neutrality”.
“Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Ji should reverse the ill-advised resolution…The choice can also be in opposition to the ethos and tradition of neutrality adopted by Amarinder Singh and the Congress celebration as a complete,” Mr Jakhar was quoted as saying by information company PTI.
Congress MLA Kuljit Nagra mentioned the choice ought to be reversed by the state cupboard. One other MLA, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, appealed to Mr Bajwa and Mr Pandey to not settle for the roles for his or her sons.
The Shiromani Akali Dal has alleged the choice is an try and “buy” the loyalty of the Congress MLAs to “save his chair”.
Mr Singh has been holding conferences with MLAs and MPs over the previous few days to attempt to sort out dissent forward of the Punjab election subsequent 12 months.
Earlier this month, the Congress had referred to as its Punjab MLAs and MPs to Delhi to iron out the rift within the state unit.
