An alert has been sounded in Punjab’s border district of Pathankot on Sunday after two explosives-laden drones crashed into the high-security Indian Air Pressure station at Jammu airport, officers mentioned.
Tight vigil is being maintained close to key installations in Pathankot, they mentioned.

Patrolling has been strengthened close to delicate areas in and round Pathankot and extra forces have been deployed, police mentioned.
“We’re on our guard in view of the scenario. Every time there may be an incident of this type, most alert is sounded in neighbouring areas,” Pathankot’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Surendra Lamba, informed PTI over cellphone when requested if further safety measures have been put in place in wake of the Jammu incident.
“We’re checking vigorously our inter-state border motion. We have now deployed further forces additionally,” he mentioned, including, specialised commandos and SWAT groups of Punjab Police are being deployed strategically.

The drones crashed into the Air Pressure station at Jammu airport within the early hours of Sunday. Two IAF personnel had been injured within the explosions that happened round 1.40 am inside six minutes of one another.
The primary blast ripped off the roof of a single-storey constructing on the technical space of the airport manned by the IAF in Satwari space of town. The second was on the bottom, the officers mentioned.
