    Mr Pilot’s marketing campaign comes weeks after Mr Gehlot, in an explosive interview to NDTV, referred to as his former deputy a “gaddar (traitor)” and stated he wouldn’t be chief minister.

    “A gaddar (traitor) can’t be Chief Minister. The Excessive Command can not make Sachin Pilot the Chief Minister… a person who does not have 10 MLAs. Who revolted. He betrayed the celebration, (he) is a traitor,” Mr Gehlot had stated on his youthful rival.

    The Gehlot-Pilot standoff started when each competed for the Chief Minister’s job after the Congress’s Rajasthan victory in 2018, and peaked when in 2020, Mr Pilot rebelled together with 20 MLAs supporting him, and camped in Delhi for weeks.

    The revolt ended after the Gandhis assured Mr Pilot of adjustments that by no means fairly materialised, with Mr Gehlot refusing to yield any floor. The dispute has festered with none answer since.

    Sources say Sachin Pilot took permission from Rahul Gandhi for this public outreach throughout Bharat Jodo Yatra to strengthen the celebration forward of elections.
