A SpiceJet plane flying to Jabalpur returned to Delhi airport this morning after the crew observed smoke within the cabin.
The flight was at an altitude of 5,000 ft when the crew observed the smoke and the smoke alarm was triggered, in accordance with sources.
“The cabin crew knowledgeable cockpit crew of delicate smoke within the cabin and on visible verify, no signal of smoke or injury was noticed in bathroom,” the supply mentioned.
Following this, the flight turned again in direction of Delhi. The Air Site visitors Management was knowledgeable and Could Day was declared.
The flight landed safely in Delhi and all passengers have been evacuated, the sources mentioned.

“A SpiceJet plane working from Delhi to Jabalpur returned safely to the Delhi airport right this moment morning after the crew observed smoke within the cabin whereas passing 5000ft; passengers safely disembarked,” a SpiceJet spokesperson mentioned, in accordance with ANI.
A visible tweeted by the information company confirmed a smoke stuffed cabin. Visuals additionally confirmed passengers exiting the plane after its return to Delhi.
That is the second emergency touchdown for a SpiceJet flight in 15 days. On June 19, a Delhi-bound plane, with 185 passengers on board, made an emergency touchdown in Patna proper after take-off as its left engine caught hearth following a chicken hit.
