Supreme Court Grants Bail To Ex-UP Minister Azam Khan, Son In Machinery Theft Case

The Supreme Courtroom has granted bail to former Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan, who had challenged an order of the Allahabad Excessive Courtroom denying them bail in a machine theft case.

A bench of Justices M M Sundresh and Rajesh Bindal put aside the Allahabad Excessive Courtroom order which rejected their bail plea.

“Considering the information and circumstances of the case which embody the interval of incarceration undergone by the appellants, and that the chargesheet has already been filed, we’re inclined to put aside the impugned order and grant bail to the appellants.

“Accordingly, the impugned order stands put aside and the appellants are granted bail, topic to the phrases and circumstances that are to the satisfaction of the trial courtroom,” the bench mentioned in its February 10 order.

The highest courtroom requested the trial courtroom to impose a situation to the impact that the appellants shall cooperate with the conduct of the trial until its conclusion and shall not make any try and affect or win over the witnesses.

“Liberty can be granted to the respondent-State to hunt for cancellation of bail in case of violation of any of the circumstances imposed upon the appellants. Azam Khan and his son had moved the highest courtroom in opposition to the September 21 order of the excessive courtroom.

The prison case was registered in 2022 in opposition to Mr Khan, his son and 5 others alleging that they’d stolen the road-cleaning machine, which was bought by the Nagar Palika Parishad, Rampur district.

It was additional alleged that this machine was later recovered from Mr Khan’s Jauhar College of Rampur.

After the change of presidency within the state, an individual named Wakar Ali Khan lodged an FIR in 2022 at Kotwali, Rampur in opposition to the seven individuals.
