A 16-year-old boy was detained on Sunday from Kutch district in Gujarat for allegedly issuing threats towards cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s minor daughter, police mentioned.
“The Class 12 scholar from Namna Kapaya village was detained for questioning in reference to a disgusting menace message that was posted on the Instagram account of Mr Dhoni’s spouse Sakshi Dhoni a number of days again,” senior police officer Saurabh Singh advised reporters.
{The teenager} “confessed” to have posted the threatening message on the Instagram account after the IPL 2020 match between KKR and CSK cricket groups, the police mentioned.
Ranchi Police had shared info relating to the boy with the police in Kutch and requested them to substantiate if he was the one who had posted the menace message, police mentioned.
“We detained him for questioning after Ranchi Police knowledgeable us that the accused hails from Mundra in Kutch district.”
“We’ve got confirmed that the boy is identical who had posted the message. He can be handed over to Ranchi police because the FIR was lodged in that metropolis,” police mentioned, including {that a} staff of Ranchi Police is prone to attain Kutch tomorrow to take custody of {the teenager}.
