Two Arrested At Delhi Airport For Smuggling Gold In Rectum

New Delhi:

Two individuals have been arrested by the customs officers for smuggling gold, price almost Rs 52 lakh, by concealing it of their rectum on the Indira Gandhi Worldwide Airport, in accordance with an official assertion issued on Friday.

The accused, a person and a girl, have been intercepted in New Delhi after their arrival from Dubai on Wednesday.

The officers seized gold weighing 1.14 kg, amounting to Rs 51.8 lakh, from the 2 passengers hid in rectum in paste kind,” the assertion issued by the customs division stated.

The passengers, each natives of Madurai, admitted to earlier smuggling of gold and items amounting Rs 1.03 crore throughout their previous visits, it stated, including that they have been arrested.
