U.S. adds e-commerce sites operated by Tencent, Alibaba to ‘notorious markets’ list


E-commerce sites operated by China’s Tencent Holdings Ltd and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd have been included on the U.S. authorities’s newest “infamous markets” listing of entities that allegedly promote or facilitate the sale of counterfeit items, the U.S. Commerce Consultant’s workplace mentioned on Thursday.

The listing identifies 42 on-line markets and 35 bodily markets which can be reported to interact in or facilitate substantial trademark counterfeiting or copyright piracy.
