Uber Applied sciences Inc will provide “a number of million {dollars}” in compensation to greater than 65,000 Uber customers, who had been charged discriminatory fees because of incapacity, as a settlement to resolve a lawsuit, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) stated on Monday. The lawsuit had alleged that the ride-hailing firm violated the Individuals with Disabilities Act.
As a part of the settlement, Uber stated it was dedicated to waive wait-time charges for riders who licensed they wanted extra time to get to the automotive due to their incapacity.
