Dehradun:
A number of employees are feared trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarakhand after part of the under-construction construction collapsed as we speak. Efforts are on to open the tunnel and rescue the trapped employees from the tunnel.
The tunnel is supposed to attach Silkyara to Dandalgaon in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi. It’s being constructed below the Char Dham Highway Venture and goals to cut back the journey from Uttarkashi to Yamunotri Dham by 26 kilometres.
Police mentioned the incident occurred round 4 am when a 150-metre-long portion of the four-and-a-half-kilometer-long tunnel collapsed.
As quickly as details about the incident was obtained, the district administration sounded an alert and Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi reached the spot.
The rescue operations are being carried out by the State Catastrophe Aid Pressure (SDRF) and the police.
Based on studies, 36 employees are feared trapped. Authorities mentioned that just about 200 metres of the slab should be cleared to open the tunnel. A slim opening has been made to insert an oxygen pipe within the tunnel and assist the trapped labourers.
No casualties have been reported thus far.
Chatting with ANI in regards to the rescue operation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned, “I’ve been involved with the officers from the time I received to know in regards to the incident. NDRF and SDRF are on the spot. We pray to God for the secure return of all people.”
