Moscow:
Russia’s ambassador in Washington on Monday described the US expulsion of 12 UN employees as a “hostile transfer”.
“This can be a hostile transfer towards our nation,” Anatoly Antonov mentioned on Fb, including that Moscow was “deeply disenchanted” and “completely rejected” the US claims.
A spokeswoman for the US mission to the UN mentioned these ordered to depart had “abused their privileges of residency in america by participating in espionage actions which are adversarial to our nationwide safety”.
However Antonov mentioned Washington had as soon as once more did not “fulfil its obligations to make sure regular situations for the working of international missions to the UN.
“Russian diplomats have as soon as once more been focused,” he mentioned.
“Washington’s acts are neither aimed toward calming the scene on the worldwide entrance, nor sustaining bilateral relations between two nice powers at a stage vital for peace and worldwide safety,” he added.
The 12 have been ordered to depart by March 7, in line with Russia’s ambassador to the UN.
