Germany Elections: CDU/CSU chief Friedrich Merz has secured a historic victory in Germany’s 2025 nationwide elections, defeating Chancellor Olaf Scholz with the best vote share ever recorded within the nation. His win is adopted by AfD chief Alice Weidel. A lawyer by occupation, Merz started his political profession in 1972 and, after a long time in public service, has now efficiently contested to grow to be Germany’s subsequent chancellor.
