South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested for questioning by the nation’s anti-corruption company on January 15. The arrest adopted weeks of political turmoil sparked by Yoon’s controversial martial regulation decree. Yoon was taken into custody after he left his residence in a motorcade, accompanied by investigators. The South Korean President confronted a number of investigations, together with accusations of rebellion, a cost that carries extreme penalties. Yoon had beforehand evaded arrest following a failed try earlier in January 2025, when his safety crew blocked regulation enforcement from approaching his residence.
