The Class 12 board examinations have been scheduled to be held from April 2-26.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the present day mentioned that Greater Secondary Examinations of the state boards are being rescheduled attributable to by-elections to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat and the Ballygunge meeting constituency. Questioning why the by-polls weren’t performed together with the 5 state meeting polls, she accused the Election Fee of India of taking instructions from the BJP.
“No matter BJP suggests, EC schedules election dates accordingly. They’re considering of instigating riots. It’s unhappy, the ECI may have seen the examination schedules earlier than fixing polling dates,” she informed reporters.
Ms Banerjee added that central safety forces will begin arriving within the state for the April 12 by-polls and must be accommodated in colleges. “So, will probably be tough to conduct examinations,” she mentioned.
She claimed that the state Chief Secretary has written a letter to the EC on this situation.
“I might ask for forgiveness. We apologise to the scholar and their households that we could not do something,” she mentioned.
The Class 12 board examinations have been scheduled to be held from April 2-26, whereas the by-polls shall be held on April 12 and votes shall be counted on April 16.
The TMC has fielded Shatrughan Sinha within the Asansol constituency and Babul Supriyo within the Ballygunge seat. The CPI(M) has named Saira Shah Halim in Ballygunge and Partha Mukherjee in Asansol. The BJP is but to call its candidates.
The by-poll was necessitated within the Asansol constituency as Babul Supriyo resigned because the BJP MP after becoming a member of the TMC. The Ballygunge seat goes to the by-elections as incumbent MLA and state minister Subrata Mukherjee died in November final 12 months.
