ROCKY MOUNT — Former furnishings producer and founding father of Wildwood Lamps William “Invoice” Hatcher Kincheloe died on Feb. 6. He was 85.
The oldest of seven kids, he was born in 1937 to Hatcher and Elizabeth Kincheloe and raised in Rocky Mount, N.C. He graduated from Rocky Mount Senior Excessive and attended N.C. State College. He was married for 63 years to the previous Martha “Marty” Frances Purvis.
In 1961, Kincheloe and his household moved again to Rocky Mount, and he took over the administration of Bulluck Furnishings Co., the enterprise based by his grandfather, W.A. Bulluck, in 1900. By 1969, he had developed a small line of handcrafted lamps, and Wildwood Lamps was born. Kincheloe traveled and developed his dwelling furnishings enterprise for greater than 50 years.
An lively member in his group, Kincheloe was chairman of the North Carolina Railroad Co., chairman of the N.C. Ports Railway Fee, chairman of the N.C. State Ports Authority Board, a member of the Governor’s Rail Passenger Process Power. a Trustee at N.C. Wesleyan School; a board member of the Salvation Military, a director for Planters Financial institution, an government committee director for Centura Financial institution, president of the Rocky Mount Space Chamber of Commerce, president of the Rocky Mount YMCA, and a member of the Rocky Mount Practice Station Advisory Committee.
He was preceded in loss of life by his mother and father. He’s survived by his spouse, three daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The household will obtain family and friends 5-8 p.m. on Feb. 9 the Kincheloe’s dwelling. A service to rejoice Kincheloe’s life can be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sundown Avenue, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804. Burial will comply with the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Memorials could also be made in Kincheloe’s reminiscence to the Salvation Military of Rocky Mount, 1000 Hunter Hill Street, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804, or to Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sundown Ave., Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804.
