A lady visitors constable posted in Pimpri-Chinchwad space was suspended on Thursday after a video purpotedly exhibiting her taking cash from a two-wheeler rider went viral on social media.
The video reveals the constable signaling the girl rider to go behind her.
Whereas the constable is standing together with her again to the rider, the latter is seen slipping one thing wanting like forex notes into the again pocket of the constable’s pants.
“The incident had taken place in Pimpri Camp on December 15,” stated senior police official (visitors) Sudhir Hiremath.
Preliminary inquiry signifies that the constable was accepting cash as an alternative of taking motion for a potential visitors rule violation, he stated.
She was suspended and additional inquiry has been launched, Mr Hiremath added.
