Yellow Alert For Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms In 21 Madhya Pradesh Districts


IMD issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning throughout Madhya Pradesh

The India Meteorological Division (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning strikes in 21 districts of Madhya Pradesh.

At the very least eight districts within the state acquired heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm), whereas Singrauli in jap Madhya Pradesh recorded very heavy showers (123 mm) within the final 24 hours, ending at 8:30 am on Thursday, an official stated.

In keeping with the IMD, heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm) with thunderstorm and lightning could hit remoted locations of Sagar, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Panna, Niwari, Rewa, Satna, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori, Katni and Narsinghpur districts.

The alert, which is legitimate until Friday morning, additionally covers Chhindwara, Seoni, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Betul and Dhar districts, senior meteorologist PK Saha of the IMD’s Bhopal workplace stated.

The climate division has additionally forecast rain or thunder showers for many locations in 10 divisions of the state, together with Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur.

Madhya Pradesh is witnessing the second moist spell this month. The primary spell had ravaged Gwalior and Chambal divisions in northern a part of the state, which left 24 individuals lifeless.

The monsoon trough is now passing via Gwalior and Sidhi, bringing in moisture and inflicting rains, Mr Saha stated, including that the moist spell is anticipated to proceed for the subsequent two to a few days.
