YSRCP leaders submitting a memorandum to State Election Commissioner Nilam Sawhney in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
A delegation of the YSRCP, led by Perni Venkataramaiah and V. Srinivas, and comprising MLCs Lella Appi Reddy and R. Ramesh Yadav, former MLA Malladi Vishnu, Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi, met State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nilam Sawhney right here on Wednesday, and urged her to make sure peaceable by-election to the Pulivendula Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC), whereas taking to her consideration the violence allegedly unleashed by the TDP-backed activists through the marketing campaign and the proof of it.
The YSRCP leaders highlighted a sequence of incidents, together with the assault on Mr. Ramesh Yadav and social gathering chief Velpula Ramu allegedly by 30 TDP males armed with sticks. They alleged that the victims have been chased, dragged out of their automobiles, and assaulted close to Nallagondavaripalli, and the police intentionally remained mute spectators.
The TDP was creating concern among the many voters and misusing energy to disrupt the election, going by the way wherein bindover instances have been being booked in opposition to the YSRCP leaders and arrests made on false grounds, the YSRCP alleged, requesting the SEC to take stern motion and guarantee free and truthful native physique elections in Pulivendula and throughout the State.
