BRS Leader K Kavitha Summoned By CBI In Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Sources


BRS chief Okay Kavitha, daughter of Telangana’s former Chief Minister KCR, has been summoned subsequent week by the Central Bureau of Investigation in reference to the Delhi liquor coverage case, say sources.

That is the second time that the Telangana politician has been summoned by the central company. She was earlier questioned by the CBI in December.

It’s alleged that the Delhi authorities’s liquor coverage for 2021-22 to grant licences to liquor merchants allowed cartelisation and favoured sure sellers who had allegedly paid bribes for it.

The coverage was subsequently scrapped and the Delhi lieutenant governor advisable a CBI probe, following which the ED registered a case below the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act (PMLA).

The Enforcement Directorate has alleged that one of many accused within the case Vijay Nair obtained kickbacks to the tune of a minimum of Rs 100 crore from a bunch referred to as South Group (managed by Sarath Reddy, Kavitha and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy) on behalf of leaders of the AAP.
