RBI has stopped the Paytm Funds Financial institution from providing some providers to clients.

New Delhi:

The Reserve Financial institution of India has taken motion towards Paytm Funds Financial institution after it directed the financial institution to not onboard new clients over supervisory considerations. In 2022, the RBI directed the financial institution to nominate an Earnings Tax audit agency to conduct a complete System Audit of its IT system over non-compliance considerations.

The most recent transfer by the RBI comes after the Complete System Audit report and subsequent compliance validation report of the exterior auditors revealed persistent non-compliance and warranted additional motion.

The RBI has exercised its powers below the Banking Regulation Act and has stopped the Paytm Funds Financial institution from providing some providers to clients.

  1. No additional deposits, credit score transactions or top-ups will probably be allowed in any buyer accounts, pay as you go devices, wallets, FASTags, or Nationwide Frequent Mobility Playing cards after February 29.
  2. Prospects can utilise the cash of their account for withdrawal, however no additional deposits are allowed. The purchasers can utilise the present quantity of their FASTags, wallets, financial savings accounts, present accounts, and many others.

  4. The nodal accounts of One97 Communications Ltd, the dad or mum firm of Paytm, and the Paytm Funds Financial institution have been terminated by the RBI.
